I don’t know about you but I’m seriously fed up with all this damn stupid arguing and the politics that’s dividing our country right now. I think we need to focus on what matters and stop acting like children. This is not the country I grew up in. This is not the country I remember while growing up. What happened? Where did we lose the “united” part of our country. We’re not the United States of America anymore. We’r the Divided States of America and it’s past the point of ridiculous. We need to stop acting like children because there are children going hungry and it’s our duty to feed them.
The ages old pissing contest between liberals and conservatives is getting fucking old. This argument isn’t just 241 years old (the age of the good ole USA). This argument is thousands of year old.
Ever since the beginning of civilized society there have been liberals and conservatives. We haven’t always called them that of course. There have been many names, many different political parties, groups, alliances, pacts, clubs, and conspiracies.
Both sides think they are right. And while both sides might be right about some things, they are wrong about most, push their views on each other, and generally ignore what the other side is saying because they’re too busy trying to be right and push their agenda. Both sides have an agenda. Both sides will do just about anything to win.
Meanwhile, moderates like me, (I think the majority of people) are stuck in the middle while greedy corrupt politicians on the right and the left bicker and argue and war with one another.
I’m fed up with the childish divisiveness.
Seriously, this is ridiculous. Conservatives think they’re right. Liberals think they’re right. And everyone else is stuck in the middle of the two groups trying to live their lives, keep food on the table, and provide for their families.
I think everyone is quietly wishing this childishness would stop.
Much like a village fighting over who’s going to lead everyone, we’re living in a village of 320+ million people and we’ve lost our way.
Whatever happened to the old proverb “It takes a village to raise a child.”?
Where did that philosophy go?
The ORIGINAL phrase is an old proverb about working together:
“It takes a village to raise a child is a proverb which means that it takes an entire community to raise a child:
A child has the best ability to become a healthy adult if the entire community takes an active role in contributing to the rearing of the child.”
The child is a metaphor for our country.
The child is of course the child, but it’s also the food system, our housing system. The child is our healthcare, the child is our education.
We must nurture the child, feed the child, make sure the child has clothes, and most importantly we must love the child as our own and make sure the child grows into a healthy adult.
It takes a village to make it work. It takes everyone working together to make it work.
The problem is we have conservatives and liberals forcing their own doctrines on one another and nothing ever gets accomplished through all the infighting, blame gaming and childish bickering.
While the right and left are arguing about who’s right and who’s wrong, our people are starving, our people are without homes, our sick and injured aren’t getting the medical care or medicine they need, and worse, everyone is blaming each other and saying it’s not their responsibility. That they aren’t to blame. They are literally standing in the village center shouting at each other, pointing their fingers at each other and saying “They did it!”.
Just stop already. Stop the blame game. Stop pointing fingers. Stop trying to prove the point. We all have good points and we all are on the same side here.
Our country is sick and dying and people are arguing over who to blame for it…? Seriously?
While the village is arguing the child is going hungry. While people are bickering the child is sitting there on the ground in the center of the village, hungry, cold, dirty, neglected and crying.
We’re better than that.
The baby needs changing. The child needs a bath, some warm food, a good night’s sleep and clean clothes to wear the next day.
We can do better. We can feed the child. We can take care of the child.
It’s our duty to feed the child. We must take care of it or the child will die.
If the child dies we all die.
Our country is sick and we need to stop arguing with our fellow Americans and start treating them like Americans. We’re all Americans.
We’re supposed to be the United States of America!
We need to act like it.
AUTHOR’S NOTE: This is just my personal philosophy on life, and everything really about living. I believe that it does take a village to raise a child. It’s about cooperation. It’s about getting more done. It’s about working together. It’s about more than just myself, or you or the next guy or gal. It’s about our village. It’s about self sufficiency in life and we can really only have that if people work together to help one another. I’m not preaching here, and I don’t have all the answers. I’m not special. I’m just a person like you who’s fed up with the BS. I’m just venting, and the rant above is just me getting it out there in the hope it inspires some folks to focus on the good. It barely scratches the surface but I think it makes a valid point. I’m not trying to force anyone to do anything, or live a certain way. I’m just fed up with the childish divisiveness our country and the world faces today. I think we can do better. I think we’re all better than this. It’s also why I’m moving off grid and traveling. It’s why I’m walking away from the crazy, and why I’ve decided to start writing on my blog again. This is my therapy really. It’s my way of maybe doing something more than just complaining. Maybe if folks see what I’m doing and the changes that I’m making in m life to be a better person, live healthier, and go on adventures, maybe it’ll inspire positive change in others too. I can only hope. If my writings inspire you or get you to think let me know in the comments below. What do you think of where we are today? Do you think we can unite as a country and move forward?
